The article “Long non-coding RNA BANCR indicates poor prognosis for breast cancer and promotes cell proliferation and invasion” by K.-X. Lou, Z.-H. Li, P. Wang, Z. Liu, Y. Chen, X.-L. Wang, H.-X. Cui published in Eur Rev Med Pharmacol Sci 2018; 22 (5): 1358-1365–DOI: 10.26355/eurrev_201803_14479–PMID: 29565494 has been retracted in accordance with the Publisher and the Editor in Chief.

Following some concerns raised on PubPeer and whistleblowers, the Journal has started an investigation to assess the validity of the results as well as possible figure manipulation.

The journal’s investigation identified several instances of figure duplication, specifically in Figure 2 (panels B and D), with previously published articles.

The authors were contacted, informed of the ongoing investigation, and requested to provide the original data supporting the manuscript, but they remained unresponsive.

As a result, the Journal has decided to retract this article.
